 1. The Secret Of Work - by Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda is one of the most influential geniuses the world has ever seen. His speeches and writings have a universal appeal even today. The present piece - The Secret Of Work- discusses various aspects of true work. Vivekananda says ignorance is the root cause of human misery. The only way out is to make mankind pure. That is possible by making man spiritually strong. Work without expecting any returns brings in the bliss of non-attachment. Every piece of work is a mixture of good and evil. Therefore one should work incessantly without being attached to return. Work is a form of worship. One's character is the sum total of the impressions one receives. Good impressions make one good, Bad ones, one bad. Once the bad is removed with the help of the good, even the good is to be left out. Attachment to good is even not desirable. Then one will be able to work as a master, out of love and incessantly. God works like this way and is unattached. Existence, Knowledge, and Bliss are the three aspects one should posses in his life. Right and Justice is just baby's talk. The only guiding principles today are might and mercy. Might is used these days mostly. It results in attachment. Mercy is divine. It makes everyone blissful. One should remember that we are sojourners here and our goal should be to work without any interruption with love. Expect nothing and you will be rewarded with eternal bliss
