iPhone 14 series

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have arrived. There are four iPhone 14 models to select from, with the iPhone 14 Plus being a new addition to the list. So we have the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone Pro Max.

What improvements do the new phones provide? The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, on the other hand, are undoubtedly an incremental progression from the iPhone 13. The battery life and camera have seen slight upgrades, while enhanced low-light shooting is much appreciated. The iPhone Pro 14 is a more intriguing departure, delivering a few widely anticipated features.

iPhone 14 Design-:

Apple is releasing four iPhone 14 versions, however, you might think of them as two models with two sizes each: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Plus is a new addition to the range, and it is simply a larger version of the ordinary iPhone 14, just like the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a larger version of the iPhone 14 Pro.

In terms of design, the entry-level iPhone 14 hasn't altered much. The normal iPhone 14 keeps its predecessor's 6.1 screen size, whilst the new iPhone 14 sports a bigger 6.7 screen - the same size as the Pro Max. They resemble the iPhone 13 in appearance, having the same back camera module with a diagonal arrangement and the same narrow notch.

They are both available in five different colors: Midnight (black), Starlight (white), Blue, Purple, and PRODUCT (RED). Regular iPhone colors are Moonlight, Starlight, and RED. The other two are also new, with the blue being a softer tint than the one found on the iPhone 13.

Then there are the Pros: the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, at 6.1in and 6.7 in, respectively, while the total size differs by a fraction of an inch from the iPhone 13 Pro, with a noticeably greater camera hump. The two Pro variants are available in four colors: black, silver, gold, and a new deep purple (much darker than the purple iPhone 14 and 14 Plus).

Many of the rumors concerning the Pros have proven to be correct, and many people will be relieved to discover that the iPhone 14 Pro does away with the much-maligned selfie-camera notch. That doesn't imply it's a perfect screen. Instead, there's a pill-shaped cutout that Apple refers to as a 'Dynamic Island' (yes, really). This section can be expanded to display warnings and background activity.

The most interesting screen update is that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have always-on screens, something fans have been requesting. The bezels have also been reduced in size. Apart from that, the design is similar to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, featuring flat, stainless steel sides and a Ceramic Shield display. But we have no problems, and we must remark that the design is as magnificent as ever.

iPhone 14: Display

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus both have Apple's Super Retina XDR OLED display, which has a peak HDR brightness of 1200 nits. The front glass has Ceramic Shield for increased durability. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for outdoor use

As previously stated, they include an always-on display that can show alerts and other information even while the phone is locked. When the always-on display is activated, a new LTPO screen allows the refresh rate to be scaled down from 120Hz to 1Hz to preserve battery life.

iPhone 14: Tech specs

Apple's Super Retina XDR OLED display, which offers a peak HDR brightness of 1200 nits, is found on both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Ceramic Shield is used on the front glass to boost durability. Outperforming it’s competitors , the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max feature a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for outdoor use.

They include, as previously noted, an always-on display that may show notifications and other information even while the phone is locked. When the always-on display is turned on, a new LTPO screen allows the refresh rate to be reduced from 120Hz to 1Hz in order to conserve battery life.

Another new feature is the long-rumored satellite connection. Emergency SOS with Satellite allows you to call for help even when you don't have a cell connection, which might be lifesaving for folks living in remote places. With the phone, you receive two years of service for free.

There's also Crash Detection, which detects when it believes you've been in a car accident and immediately contacts emergency services if you don't answer. It's also worth noting that the iPhone 14 lacks a SIM card slot, making it eSIM only.

The Pro and Pro Max will use a new A16 Bionic processor with a 6-core CPU based on a 4-nanometer technology. It boasts a 5-core GPU with 50% greater bandwidth and a Dynamic Island display engine. According to Apple, the Neural Engine can handle 17 trillion operations per second in computational photography.

iPhone 14: Camera

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus sport a new 12MP primary camera with a larger sensor than their predecessor, resulting in a 49% increase in low-light performance. The front camera is likewise 12MP, and for the first time, it includes autofocus as well as a faster lens for greater low-light performance.

Apple has included some new tech wizardry throughout the range, dubbed a Photonic Engine. This should boost low-light performance even more than before, with a claimed 2x improvement on the front and ultra-wide cameras, and a 2.5x improvement on the main camera. Footage also receives a boost with the addition of an improved stabilisation
option dubbed Action mode, which can be toggled on to make the
video smoother while moving.

The Pros, as predicted, get a significant camera boost. All three cameras (main, telephoto, and ultrawide) benefit from enhanced low-light shooting, which is aided by a new 9-LED flash. The new Photonic Engine powers a new 48MP primary camera that offers better clarity and 2x increased low-light performance.

Video may now be filmed at 4K up to 40 frames per second in Cinematic mode (there's also the new Action mode that comes with the basic iPhone 14).
